I wanted to do a quick QTP episode about the phrase “you should write to market.” By that phrase, I mean “you should intentionally create books that are aimed at a ‘target’ that ‘exists’ in the minds of readers.” There are a few things to take into account when you are assuming you should throw off your intuitive process for one that involves lots of intentional choices. It’s important to question whether or not you should listen when people say “if you just did this, you’d be able to do what I can do.”
We will follow this episode with the “flip side” QTP, just to make sure I’m giving fair coverage to the topic.
