When you want to have a sustainable author career…
Management of resources becomes one of the most important things you can do. That means you have to value your time enough that you are willing to make hard choices when it comes to how you spend your attention.
You have to choose the hard thing, when all your brain wants to do is soothe itself on social media, or soothe its curiosity or try to use fear to create action.
Managing your attention is one of the four pillars of author sustainability you need to maintain a long-term author career, and one that will continue to deliver for you as the years go on.
Make that a priority. Not to reach for the phone in the morning. Even if you don’t write first. And consider opening the manuscript first. Just to get it in your head, and see what will happen.
