Since we’ve been expanding our content, I’ve got all these “make this list and that list” sticky notes in my Sticky Note Forest, so let’s get this one out first, since I think it’s pretty important. I have a list of nonfiction books I like to recommend for new authors. It covers the gamut of “business” and “creative” process, but it’s specifically focused on new writers. Here’s my thought.
- Let’s Get Digital by David Gaughran.
- The Seven P’s of Publishing Success by Mark Leslie Lefebvre
- How to Make a Living With Your Writing by Joanna Penn
- Romance Your Brand by Zoe York
- How to Write a Series by Sara Rosett
There’s a combination of mindset stuff and actionable stuff in these books, and I find that if you can start off with some kind of combination of “how does all this work” and “what are my next steps,” that’s the best.
Please let us know if you have questions, but I highly recommend checking out the books first! If you’re getting stuck in your work consistently, check out our Stuck List workbook!
