At the beginning of the month, I threatened everyone that you would never stop listening to me talk about sustainability or this project, and instead, I’ve barely talked about it.
Which is par for the course.
But here’s a bit about why I did this deck in particular and why I’m going to be a little annoying about discussing this topic a lot as we near the end of the project.
Humans are awful at predicting what will actually make us happy. Every single happiness study underlines that. We think we know, but then we “get what we want” and happiness still eludes us. In my coaching, I’ve found that the easiest way to make sure we stay connected to that happiness is to focus more on sustainability and alignment.
It’s not sexy. It doesn’t come with a giant promise that “you too can have all your dreams come true” because you’re not going to be happy if your “dreams” come true anyway. Not unless you also manage your energy and alignment at the same time.
Not unless you can find ways to start the fire inside that will keep you burning that heat of happiness your entire life.
This is step one in that journey. (Well, I mean… technically, step one is knowing yourself better, but I’m assuming if you’re reading this, you’ve already done that.)
There are big things coming at the BFA over the course of the next year or so, and this is just the first step. I think it’s important to build from a good foundation (just like Krystal talks about foundational branding, this is sort of like foundational branding for your author life and energy production).
I hope you’ll join us on this journey.
27 hours until you never have to hear about this project again! We’re almost to the end…
